What? I don't think Kanaxai has anything to do with the value of that package, Did you forget about the Mouse, the Expansion, skill pins?.. Sure, Kanaxai does have a value on Ebay, but that is not what is stated in that message, according to that message it is just an in game item, it retains no value at all. Anyone who has read A-Nets EULA would know that in game items are not to be sold, or have out-of-game value, they wouldn't support that.

I think that people on this site have reached an unrealistic state of mind, people here have lost all credibility.
So you're telling me that when you see Kanaxai as a prize, you DON'T think of how much money you can get (in game or out of game) for it? Because that's the ONLY thing I think of. It's a minipet I don't need, the money I do. The rest of the stuff is good for me to use, but I sure as hell wouldn't keep the pet.

Count yourself lucky they still run things like this after the extremely poor attitude some people have.

I for one am tired of these BS posts. Don't like the way the game is going, quit.

As for Gaile, I wouldn't visit either. While everyone is free to express their opinion, the crybaby attitude of the vast majority of people is quite pathetic. I've never seen so many grown people complain about the stupidest things in my life.
Took the words right out of my mouth...

If you don't like it, then why play?

What a senseless thing to whine about! You say you know tons of people who would want a mini panda, but complain that it's NOT the grand prize mini. Do you realize that since it's 3rd place, there'll be that many more Pandas introduced into the game?

Yup, that is what i am telling you.

Opinions, Points of view, and experiences vary folks.

Now we just have to let people figure that out for themselves.

That's the thing 50% of people see minipets as a big sack of dough while the other 50% see it as a big item they can show-off. Yes people can see it as a big bag of money but it's for that reason why they don't sell it. Just because you want to sell it doesn't mean everyone else wants to as well.

Well that's the thing. A lot of people DO see the minipet as something to show off, but a lot of those don't know the value of it. I imagine if someone was offered the choice between the Kanaxai and the value of it (8000+ ecto), I know what they would choose.

Whats your point?

Are you saying the kanaxai is too good of a pet to give as a prize?

Yeah, basically, they should give out something LESS rare and valuable. I don't see why they have to give out the rarest item in Guild Wars for a Halloween Contest...when there are far better prizes that aren't worth thousands of dollars irl.

So....if it was a crappy mini-pet how many people would complain that its just a crappy mini-pet?

Well, far from crappy. There are a fair few minipets that people like, and are also rare (Naga, Oni, Island Guardian, etc). These would have made better minipet prizes, as they are rare, look cool, and are worth enough that someone can sell them if they don't like them (to buy another sort, or just for the money). The current prizes are kind of wrong...like the Kanaxai, Vizu and Panda. The value of them far outweighs the effort required to enter.

Yeah! They should have a mini Devourer as the grand prize!!!!

I'd enter for sure then! But the way things are now, the prizes are too good, so I won't enter. ^^

The value outweighs the effort?

But wouldnt a higher value prize bring entries of higher effort and better quality, thus negating the crap effort?

Then only entries with GOOD effort would actually DESERVE such a good prize?

While this thread continues to amuse me as people turn this into a perennial flame fest, I'd just like to add that I know people willing to pay more for an island guardian than a vizu.

Btw, if I read correctly, a simple entry will not guarantee one from obtaining one of these pets as I thought you'd have to be selected?

P.S Eventually, all of these pets will become more common in case you haven't noticed as Anet continues to come up with ingenious ways of releasing more into the market. Stay tuned....

Interesting read as I was thinking most players wanted Spartan Helms for their Paragons not Panda's. Geez we have only requested this since BEFORE the Nightfall release once Paragons were known. All we got were these stupid gay-like gems to put on your head.

Yeah I feel so bad ass Spartan - Roman like with forehead jewelry.

I swear the armor makers for male Paragon armor are a bunch of school girls or fags I'm unsure which.

You should be happy that they are actually holding the contest. If more of your whiny kind show up, they might as well not bother.

Personally, I'd much rather have a Vizu. That's the only one of the asian minis I ever wanted anyway...

few main things I'm getting at are....

Where is originality in it? why redo same minis out?

And same time... since they are redoing the same minis that are out... why not make #1 the mini that more ppl would want, for their characters, not to just resell...

I can almost guarantee that the #1 and #2 winners, will sell their minis... might buy a panda... might buy nothing... but the fact is, why not make the reward something more of what players want? like a new mini...

Lord knows if I won top spots... I would just resell and get panda...

And I'm sure 90% or more of players would just resell, get no mini and keep the piles of ecto, or buy a panda or such...

The fact that many of the winners these such contest take the mini and resell it, ingame or on ebay, dependent... is a huge WTF that i continue to ask....

ppl now are driven to enter only to win and make it rich rather then to have a pet....

I was told that from the last such contest... 1 of the winners had to actualy go out and buy the game, just to recieve the pet... he only entered to win and resell on ebay....

That my friends, is pathetic!

All Anet cares about is the "appearance" of giving back to players... they give false hope to all the 15 yr olds who wants to feel that they gave something back to this game, the idea that they can win this prize, and have it... yet the 20 yr old art major in college is the winner of the prize, just to pay for a party during the upcoming weekend....

There are many huge layers to this... yet Anet looks right threw them all and just hits print screen and doesnt care what the results are... "this worked before" well its time that "hey, maybe we should try this" replaces that
